The second step of healthy skin regimen is to moisturize your skin. It should be done right after you cleanse your skin so the skin moisture will be locked fast.
There are 3 kind of moisturizer ingredients that are commonly used:
These substances help attract moisture. Humectants include ceramides, glycerin, sorbitol, hyaluronic acid, and lecithin.
These ingredients —including petrolatum (petroleum jelly), silicone, lanolin, and various oils—help seal moisture within the skin.
These products are light and contain oil, water, and an emulsifier to keep the two from separating.
Things you should avoid when you choose a moisturizer is the formula with excessive active ingredients, fragrance, and coloring agent. Those ingredients can stimulate your skin reactions. Choose the moisturizer with light, non-comedogenic, and hypoallergenic formula such as Cetaphil.
You can choose Cetaphil products such as Cetaphil Daily Advance Ultra Hydrating Lotion or Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream as moisturizer for dry skin. Or choose Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion for dry, oily, acne-prone, combination or sensitive skin.
However, don’t forget to do the first step which is to cleanse your skin with Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser for dry, oily, acne-prone, combination or sensitive skin. Or use Cetaphil Oily Skin Cleanser as cleanser for oily skin.
